My fans and those who follow me on social media will know I’m really big on random acts of kindness. When I was approached about this a week ago, I had to say yes. See, I’ve not only lost a lot the people I love in life, I’ve lost many to cancer. Moreover, July 20th and 21st mark the anniversaries of the deaths of my parents, who died seven years and one day apart from each other. My sister is battling breast cancer, and today, I learned that my beloved dog of fifteen years has liver tumors. We don’t know how long she has. Vet bills are high. My sister is still fighting the good fight, day by day. Tasha is resting comfortably, for now.
Cancer sucks. Cancer, in all its forms ravages body and soul. So, whenever I can help someone else fight the big ugly C, I’m all over it. This is that time. A member of the book community needs an act of kindness. Maybe, just maybe, together we can help Stephanie, a blogger, supporter of authors, mother, and wife. What do you say? Random acts of kindness, guys. It’s what patches us up and holds us together.
From the tour organizer, Ashley over at ACS Tours:
“We all know how fragile life is, especially when faced with a life threatening illness.” ~Nic, Flirty and Dirty Book Blog.
Fiction introduced us. Reality binds us together.
Stephanie Thomas—co-founder of The Indie Bookshelf—has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer called glioblastoma. Stephanie isn’t only a blogger; she’s a loving wife, and mother to three young boys.
In the independent author community, we have an extraordinary network of fellow authors, and readers. A special group of people who bridge this gap—helping authors connect with readers—is book bloggers. These men and women dedicate hours upon hours to reading and reviewing our works, and spreading the word to help us reach new readers.
Now, one of these women needs our help.
100% of the proceeds of the Rise Up anthology (volumes one and two) will go directly to Stephanie and her family to help them on this unexpected leg of their journey together.
Inside the pages of this collection, you’ll find amazing works of fiction. But please remember the reality, and help support Stephanie and her family.
