The Week in Review

First, the exciting news! Both The Haunting Season and Don’t Fear the Reaper have both been nominated for best in Horror and Young Adult in the eFestival of Words Awards. I’m totally stoked about this! The Book of Lost Souls won the Young Adult category last year. Judges are currently reading books to select the finalists, which will be announced next month. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

For those of you wondering what I’m working on now, it’s an adult urban fantasy. I hope you’ll love Kate, Ian, and Declan as much as I do. And yes, there’s a romance but not a love triangle, and yes, my horror fans can do a little rejoicing as well. I’ve contracted the amazing, the awesome, Sarah Hansen of Okay Creations for the cover and she’s hard at work. Boy, is she! This is no easy cover, folks. You’ll understand more when the time is a bit closer.

Literati Literature Lover’s is hosting the Help for Oklahoma Fundraiser. There’s a LOT of great book prizes to offer up, including a signed copy of The Haunting Season, so please check them out. You know how much I love random and not so random acts of kindness.

On the home front, the spring cleaning we’ve been doing is finally done and the last of the donations have been dropped off to charity. I never realized just how big the house is or how much stuff we’ve collected until I went through every closet, drawer, and cabinet. It feels good to de-clutter. And it’ll make things easier once we put the house on the market. We’re not exactly sure when that will be yet.

In other news, our Akita girl, Tasha, turned 14. That’s pretty darn old for her breed. Of course, that’s only a guesstimate seeing as she was full grown when we rescued her in early 2001. If you’d like to read her story, Thief of Hearts, it’s here.

And finally, two of my crit partners have their own announcements to make. Leslie Tentler’Edge Of Midnight is a finalist for the Kiss of Death – Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence in Mystery/Suspense. And Steve McHugh is doing a giveaway for a Kindle Paperwhite in celebration for his signing with Amazon imprint 47North. Check out his blog for more details.

I think that’s enough excitement for the week, don’t you?
