Pottermore: Any Guesses?

I was planning on posting about The Book of Lost Souls being on sale for 99 cents for a limited time, but then I came across a few threads on Pottermore. So much for blogging about my own book! I confess that I’m a Harry Potter/J.K. Rowling fan (hubby thinks I’m barely beneath fanatical).

It appears there’s a link to click on, which takes you to YouTube. There, you’ll see owls collecting and a countdown.

So, want to play along with me? Let’s speculate. What do think Pottermore is all about? A new book? An encyclopedia? A game? Maybe a social networking site of some sort? Whatever it is, it appears it’s from J.K. herself since one report said that J.K. Rowling has something special for Harry Potter fans in six days.

So, why ARE those owls gathering? Click the link above, click on one of the owls, and then come back and tell me what you think.

Me? It’s a book. What kind of book? That’s the question.

  1. Hmmmm. The hubbub has minds in a twirl, that’s for sure. I’m with you. I think it’s a book, but I HOPE it has nothing to do with the Harry Potter series because they ended perfectly. Although with a name like Pottermore, it doesn’t take genius to flip the words into more Potter……

    • Did you read the bottom of the Pottermore page? It says: Harry Potter and Pottermore Publishing Rights © J.K. Rowling
Harry Potter characters, names and related indicia are trademarks of and © Warners Bros. Ent. All Rights Reserved

This is what makes me think it’s a book. Maybe a spinoff? One with his kids?

    • Her grocery list would probably become a best seller overnight – which is a true testament to how many fans she has.

    • At first, she said never. Then, I believe she said, never say never, but the story was done. I wonder if she misses Harry and the rest as much as her readers do? Of course, it still could be a video game or some sanctioned on-line encyclopedia/social media/fan site that is all in one. Kind of like an online amusement park of all things Harry Potter.
